Role Summary
A Fixsmith is a trusted, customer-facing technician responsible for completing residential maintenance and repair work independently within scope. This role requires sound judgment, strong craftsmanship, and pride in doing things the right way.
Fixsmiths represent the Steady standard at the door.
What You’ll Do
Perform residential handyman and maintenance work independently
Execute Signature Arrivals and multi-task visits
Complete tasks including:
Doors, trim, and hardware installs
Drywall repair and paint
Mounting, assembly, and adjustments
Appliance swaps (non-plumbed / non-wired)
Home safety and function upgrades
Communicate clearly with homeowners
Identify additional fix opportunities respectfully
Maintain tools, vehicles, and clean workspaces
Accurately track time and job notes
Scope & Compliance
Work remains within WA handyman scope
No unlicensed electrical or plumbing system work
Licensed trades are coordinated through approved partners
What We’re Looking For
3+ years handyman or maintenance experience
Strong problem-solving instincts
Comfortable working alone in occupied homes
Professional appearance and communication
Respect for safety, property, and customer trust
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Pay & Schedule
Hourly pay: $26–$38/hour, based on experience
Flexible scheduling (clustered days preferred)
Paid sick leave accrued per WA law
